I read in my Rough Guide about this hike to Putucusi, a mountain overlooking Machu Piccu. The trail included a series of these amazing near-vertical ladders, that stretched over a hundred feet up in the air. Not so fun in the rain, but I was lucky to only have a cooling drizzle.
